Anu Malik Takes A Break From Indian Idol 11:  Sona Mohapatra Relieved, Can Finally ‘Sleep Well’
Last year, this time, Bollywood musician Anu Malik was accused of sexual harassment by multiple women, amid the #MeToo movement that had taken the film industry by storm. As a consequence of all the outrage over the same, he had to exit from Indian Idol 10 as the show’s judge. Fast forward to now, history seems to have repeated, as Malik recently announced his break from Indian Idol 11 after a few more women came out and accused him. It turns out Anu Malik exited from the show after National Commission For Women had sent a legal notice to Sony TV. However, the musician has asserted that he will be back after clearing his name. Now, Sona Mohapatra, who is a staunch feminist and among those who accused Anu Malik, has reacted to this news and she sounds the happiest person on this planet right now. Taking to her Twitter account, Sona thanked everyone who supported her campaign against Anu named #MoveOutMalik. She also revealed how this move will finally give her a good sleep “Thank you to all the women & men & the media of India who supported our campaign #MoveOutMalik . A repeat offender like Anu Malik on national tv triggered a lot of trauma, pain & stress in many of our lives. I have been ill for a while & I hope to sleep well tonight,” wrote Sona.

Soon after the news of Anu Malik’s exit from Indian Idol 11 was disclosed, Sona, in an interview with IANS, told how it’s a victory for every woman that has been badly treated by the singer.  



“Our fight is not over yet, it’s just a start. We are not going to sit here and let people to take us for granted,” she said.
